What Is Revamp And Its Purpose To Increase Your Conversions And Your SEO Ranking

How to Revamp Good Without Damaging SEO

  1. Responsive website design

It would be nice if you build a website with a “must be responsive” mindset. Why? because every year according to Google data, internet access via Mobile Devices is always increasing rapidly. If your website is not responsive, it will look messy on the visitor’s smartphone screen later.

This certainly has fatal consequences for their User Experience. Instead of making it comfortable, they will immediately leave your website.

Pas Revamp, also make sure to adjust the size of the Call To Action (CTA) button. Because the size of the buttons on the desktop and on the smartphone screen is clearly different. You certainly don’t want your button size to look too big or too small on the visitor’s cell phone screen, right?

  1. Website auditing

When going to do a revamp, first ask the website developer about the results of the website audit. Don’t just fix it right away. here you must know which elements that need to be optimized again, such as Meta tags, and the URL.

Also ask for the SEO Listing of the website for examples of keywords that have been optimized / indexed. Re-check the website URL structure with existing tools or explore it yourself.

  1. Website structure and URL

On your website try to check the structure again. Make sure all menus are accessible to your visitors. Look again at the presence or absence of broken links there. If there is, fixing the existing broken link is one of your revamp agenda later.

If there are 3 different urls but entered the same page, use a 301 redirect to the one page you want to use. Or use a canonical url. Canonical is used if we have the same 2 pages but only 1 original.

Or you can use a different domain when doing a website revamp so that it is not considered duplicate if it is indexed by Google.

Finally, always check the progress of the google algorithm because our revamp process refers to the updates they did.

  1. Temporary URL

When a website is revamped and then the main page indexed, it will be considered duplicate content by Google. So it is highly recommended to create a Temporary URL before doing a revamp.

Later, even though Google can still crawl it, the revamp results will not be indexed and will not be considered duplicate content.

  1. Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Last but not least, you have to pay attention to the SEO on your website. Whether it’s On-Page or Offpage. Make sure again what you are targeting is also in the section:

  • Title & Meta Description
  • Heading (H1-H4)
  • Content of Content
  • Image & Alt Image
  • Schema Markup

Every content that you update will greatly affect the Schema Markup that you have applied before. Check back and adjust the changes to the newly updated content with the desired Schema.

And for images, make sure to also provide the Alt image so that Google can detect what images are displayed. Because they don’t recognize the image without the alt image.

  1. Tracking & Analysis of Revamp Results

After doing the revamp, don’t just stop there. Try tracking your results again. You can use the google search console tools to find out the revamp performance.

Fix what can be fixed, what updates you can update. The revamp process is not enough to be done once and it is long-term and continuous.

Keep track of your website’s performance and what Google updates. Try visiting your own website, is it mobile friendly / responsive enough or not. Because it will be very influential on GoogleBot.

Keyword will not disappear during revamp, if we manage it well.

  • Page audit before it is revamped.
  • The user interface should be getting better after the revamp.
  • Use AMP Mobile Friendly for google bot smartphones.
  • Fix the structure of the website properly.
  • Check for the latest Google algorithm updates before the revamp, for us to use after the revamp
