Tips for Creating SEO Friendly Website Design

The term SEO is certainly familiar to us, SEO is Search Engine Optimization which is currently a consideration for someone when designing their website. In order to get a busy number of visitors and also increase the visibility of a website page for the better in search engines so that visitors can easily find it.

  1. Website Design Must Be Responsive

To get the top position in a search engine like Google, the design of a website must be responsive where the website design will automatically adjust its appearance according to the media layout used by visitors, be it PC / desktop, tablet, or smartphone. That way, visitors can access the website comfortably even from different media. In fact, Google says that responsive websites will be prioritized to occupy the top positions in their search engine.

  1. Include text that is already optimized for SEO

We all know that text is the most important part of a website that fills every page of the website. The text used is always under Google’s radar, so if the text used comes from another website or there are spelling and grammar mistakes, it is certain that the website will not survive the Google Panda penalty.

For that, give a good title that describes the website in 50-60 characters and write a short description in the meta description (150-320 characters) then enter the keywords in the meta keywords section. Then, maximize keywords and titles that are good, unique and relevant to the website in these sections:

  • Title tag
  • Meta description & keywords
  • Website slogans
  • Navigation
  • Breadcrumb trails
  • H1, H2 and H3 tags
  • Bullet points
  • Alt text
  • Title attribute on links
  • The main website copy
  • Internal links
  • Footer links
  • UR
  • File / folder names
  1. File names in images, txt, pdf, and others must be optimized

Apart from text, images are also something that must be taken into account because in search engines like Google, people can search for images. Therefore, images can also increase the number of our visitors. Therefore, make a good name for the image file like building-putih.jpg, not something obscure like image1.jpg. And it is also necessary to add an ALT tag to each image. This will certainly increase the visibility of the image in the eyes of search engines.

  1. Text-based navigation system

If you look at Google’s webmaster rule, “Create a site with clear text hierarchy and links. Each page must be reached from at least one static text link.”

We recommend that we make a good navigation system and clear writing. Use a text navigation system because search engines find it easier to recognize text-based navigation systems and make it simple by not adding sub-menus or using javascript or flash because it will make it difficult for search engines.

  1. Make 301 Redirection

When we redesign, our old pages become unused or deleted. So, when visitors visit that page, they will be redirected to a 404 page. Therefore, use the 301 redirect system to redirect the old page to a new page.

Using a 301 redirect will tell search engines that the old page URL is now changing to the new page URL. This will save you from traffic loss as well as maintain the authority of the domain that is already SEO and every link to the old page will count towards the new page.

When doing a redesign, usually there will be pages that are not used or deleted. Visitors will find a 404 page when they visit that page, search engines will find it, even though before it existed. For that, use the 301 redirect system to redirect the old page to a new page if the old page is no longer used.

These old and new pages are usually based on URL only, different URLs will be considered different pages. This 301 redirect will save you from losing traffic, it will tell search engine bots that the old page is replaced with a new page.

Writing method: redirect 301 / your

-old

-page / cell

-new

-page
